3. How to Install

• Tap on the "Home" icon
• Tap on the "Menu" icon, and select "App"
• Tap on "Info" from the App drop-down list
• Tap on the "Size" icon at the bottom of the screen
• Tap on the "Done" button to exit

NOTE: To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.

NOTE: It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

Please follow the steps below to download and install the SonyPhoneSelectionDB.pdb, SonyGenericGSMDrv.prc and SonyGenericGSMDrv_enUS.prc files using the HotSync(R) function.

q      Download the SonyPhoneSelectionDB.pdb, SonyGenericGSMDrv.prc and SonyGenericGSMDrv_enUS.prc files to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).

q  WARNING!!: Please perform a soft reset on your CLIÉ handheld BEFORE performing the installation. For more detailed information, please refer to the CLIÉ Read This First manual.

q  On the computer, launch the Palm Desktop for CLIÉ software, then click on the "Install" icon.

q  Select the desired username from the user list and click on the "Add" button.

q  Browse to the location where the files are saved. Select the downloaded files and click on "Open".

q  Under "File Name", verify that SonyPhoneSelectionDB.pdb, SonyGenericGSMDrv.prc and SonyGenericGSMDrv_enUS.prc are listed and click on "Done".

q  Place your CLIÉ handheld on the cradle, and perform a HotSync operation.

q  After the HotSync operation finishes, please reset your CLIÉ handheld.

4. Confirming successful installation

• Tap on the "Home" icon on the CLIÉ handheld.
• Tap on the "Menu" icon, and select "App".
• Tap on "Info" from the "App" drop-down list.
• All internal data information is displayed. 
• Tap on "Version" at the bottom of the screen.
• The software version for each item is displayed.
• Scroll down the list and confirm that the following file name and version is displayed: 

SonyGenericGSMD...  v.1.0

• Tap on the "Done" button to exit.
• Tap on the "Prefs" icon.
• Select "Phone" from the "Preferences" drop-down menu.
• Under "Connection:", you must see "Sony BT to GSM" in the drop-down list.

NOTE: If the file and version above is not listed, please download and install the update again.
