3. How to Install

NOTES:

• During the installation of this update, make sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• Make sure that Palm® Desktop for CLIE software is installed on your PC from the installation CD-ROM supplied with your CLIE handheld. 
• Please confirm that your PC is configured to be able to perform a HotSync® operation. (For the detailed information about HotSync, please refer to the CLIE Read This First manual.) 
• *This update requires that approximately 650 KB of memory be available on your CLIE handheld. Before installing this application, please confirm that there is enough memory available. 

To check the available memory on your CLIE Handheld:

1. Tap the Home icon.
2. Tap the Menu icon, and select App.
3. Tap Info from the App drop-down list.
4. Tap the Size icon at the bottom of the screen.
5. Tap the Done button to exit.

NOTES:

• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

Please follow the steps below to download and install the GameConLoader.prc file using the HotSync(R) function.

WARNING!: JogAssistLoader.prc must be installed on your CLIE handheld before installing the update. Please install the Game Controller Software from the installation CD-ROM supplied with PEGA-GC10 and delete the old version of GameCon from your CLIE handheld.

To delete the version of GameCon from your CLIE handheld, perform the following procedure:

1. Tap the Home icon on the CLIE handheld.
2. Tap the Menu icon, and select App.
3. Tap Delete from the App drop-down list.
4. Tap GameCon.
5. Tap Delete and tap Done.

• Click here to download the GameConLoader.prc file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).

WARNING!!: Please perform a soft reset on your CLIE handheld BEFORE performing the update installation. For more detailed information, please refer to the CLIE Read This First manual.

To install GameConLoader.prc:

1. Start the Palm Desktop for CLIE software on your computer, then click the Install icon.
2. Select the desired username from the user list and click the Add button.
3. Browse to the location where the file is saved.
4. Select the downloaded file and click Open.
5. Under File Name, verify that GameConLoader.prc is listed and click Done.
6. Place your CLIE handheld on the cradle, and perform a HotSync operation.
7. After the HotSync operation finishes, you are prompted to reset your CLIE handheld.
8. Tap the Reset button.

4. Confirming successful installation

1. Tap the Home icon on your CLIE handheld.
2. Tap the Menu icon, and select App.
3. Tap Info from the App drop-down list - All internal data information is displayed.
4. Tap Version at the bottom of the screen - The software version for each item is displayed.
5. Scroll down the list and confirm that the following file names and versions are displayed: 

For PEG-NX70V/E series: 

• GameCon 2.0E 
• GameCnLoader 1.0 
• GameControllerLib 200.0 
• JogAssistLoader 1.0 

For PEG-NR70V/E, PEG-SL10, PEG-SJ30,PEG-T425,PEG-T625C and PEG-T675C series:

• GameCon 1.10E 
• GameCnLoader 1.0.
• JogAssistLoader 1.0 

6. Tap Done button to exit.

NOTE: If the files and versions above are not listed, please download and install the update again.
